If shyness is the major problem for you to attend the gym here are some tips that help you to overcome it.
If you are a stranger to the gym the other in the gym may not talk with you and they might stare at you. You no need to worry about that just focus on what you have to do. Have you headphone and do your exercise. And if you are doing bicep curls just close your eyes and feel the tension of your muscles. Just think that you are in the gym because of yourself and not because of them.
You can go to the gym with your friend who has gym workout experience or you can get someone who can share their fitness experience with you.
Another thing you can do is that you can choose the gym hours that is less busy say in the mid afternoon or late in the night. Since most gym are crowded early in the morning or after the work hours.
If your plan is working in an open space them you might choose the smaller gym. There are some gyms that are having separate area for ladies workout.
Have the right expectation. You can dream of having bodies like those seasoned gym goers. They would have spent months and years to get it. You can only be motivated by them and should not be intimidated.
You should remember that everyone starts off as a beginner initially.
Still if your flexible to go the gym you can explore the areas such as sporting club, women only club, or 1 to 1 personal training studios.
You can join the sport activities you are more comfortable with and can slowly build up your confidence.
